Heal the Family
The parent-child relationship is one of the longest-standing relationships in our lives. The relationship we have with each of our parents often has great impact on our choices and behaviors, even after they are deceased. And, the relationship we have with our children has great impact on how we live our own lives. It is common now during such busy times, to lose connection with our parents and our children. Yet, understanding and healing problems within the family can relieve some of life’s greatest confusions and stresses.

As in all traditional cultures, the Maasai place great importance in rites of passage and coming of age processes and ceremonies. And, they hold ‘family meetings’ to solve problems as they arise. When children reach their teenage years and start to be heavily influenced by others outside the family, parents and Godparents play very strong roles in guiding children into maturity. In fact, many of the problems that exist between parent and child in today’s world, can be traced back to a lack of clear and proper rites of passage and sharing of wisdom.

During this Personal Journey in Tanzania, parents and children, or couples thinking to have children, will engage in discussions, activities and ceremonies that help heal the family and prepare for the future. You will be supported by warm and loving communities who live in stunning surroundings. Be prepared to return home with amazing shifts in your relationships.
